When entering the “Meeting Place” after the scheduled meeting start time please wait to be recognized by the Chairperson before “speaking”. Someone may be sharing. The Chairperson will be the person whose name is followed by “CH”, All meeting participants are listed on the right side of the page.
When the Chairperson indicates that the floor is open and/or asks if anyone would like to share, you may indicate your willingness to share by simply typing “!” (exclamation mark). Again, we ask that you wait to be recognized by the chair before sharing.
We ask that you refrain from using profanity, speaking or sharing before being recognized, commenting directly on other's shares or behaving in any fashion that could be considered inappropriate in any meeting.
When you are finished sharing please indicate that you are done with a simple message. For example; “Thanks for letting me share” or “Done”. This allows the Chairperson to proceed to the next person.
We would like to point out that while some meetings have a specific topic, anything related to NA that affects your recovery is an appropriate topic for sharing. However, one should keep in mind that all of our meetings are NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS meetings and we deal in the nature of recovery from addiction.
It should be noted that we have several online meeting rooms. They are all open 24 hours a day, and can be used simultaneously. If the “Chat Room” is empty when you arrive at the Login Page, be sure to check the other rooms for participation. You can also switch to an unused room for a private conversation or to simply become familiar with the "controls".
Once again do not use a nickname, online handle, etc. Real First Name, Last Initial Only. If you registered with anything other than a real first name there will be a delay. Please check your email for conformation of your registration and access to the chatroom....an email will be on the way shortly....
