My clean date is May 9, 2006. I am currently working step 10 for the first time with my sponsor who has 21 years clean. I am very active in NA service in my home groups, area service and I'm a trusted servant on a regional subcommittee. I live in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am part of the Butler ASC which is part of the Tri-State Region of NA. I believe that I was chosen to have my seat in Narcotics Anonymous. If I got what I earned, surely I would be dead now, and I believe that my primary purpose is to be a beacon for those who seek recovery. If I can do it, you can too.
My primary purpose is to get another day clean and to keep the lights on and the coffee hot so no one needs die from the horrors of addiction. I have a daily reprieve if I just don't take anything one day at a time and talk about how I feel at any given moment. Developing a support group has been my saving grace because I believe that my Higher Power speaks through other people, so I have to be in their company to hear what He is saying. Seroiusly, I just want to know what you want to do about your problem and how I can help. It can become overwhelming at times dealing with new emotions, or even dealing with the old ones, but just for today, you have someone who cares and is willing to listen, someone who wants to help.
Give yourself a break and keep coming back. This lifestyle is available to us all.
