Hi, I'm Vic and I'm an addict. I first found Earth Group in 2000, when I also found the face to face meetings of NA. I wanted both online and local recovery - the combination seemed to suit me, and my sponsor had told me to do what felt right to further my recovery! And I found a home here! I did service work for the first time here at Earth Group, and learned some valuable recovery tools along the way. But at some point, I allowed my disease to take me back out of the rooms where I had first found so much serenity.
A decade after first learning the Twelve Steps, I returned and was welcomed with open arms. This time, I'm sticking with the program, and have learned so much more than I ever thought possible. One of the things I do differently now is a definitive move away from people, places and things that endanger the clean time I'm putting together again. In my new home outside Atlanta, I celebrated 18 months clean, and I'm fiinding serenity after so long in the dark.
It is a privilege to serve Earth Group again - one of my responsibilities is serving as Discussion Leader. I have the honor of writing a topic each week for the eMeeting. The topic, always based on approved NA literature, is available to all either in our Forum and on the website itself, under the 'EMeeting' tab.
I also serve as the Chairperson for the Home Group, regular members that coordinate decisions for the entire group.
I can't tell you how humbled I am to give back to the Group I love so much. I look forward to reading your own contributions. I need you, the group needs you, and YOU need you. Explore what online recovery offers to you, and how you can get involved. The recovery available to you is, as I've found out the hard way, just within your reach. All you have to do is ask.
